In the Christie's Hong Kong Autumn Auctions last year, "Landscapes and Flowers" by Bada Shanren was realized at a total price of HK$39,740,000, becoming the top lot of the sale on ancient Chinese paintings and caligraphy (sale no.: 12561; lot: 916). The upcoming Sotheby's sale on the same catagory in New York, offers another piece of Bada Shanren's work, "Flowers, Birds, Fish and Fruit". In addition, the sale includes excellent works of both the ancient and the contemporary world of ink art, such as Wu Zhen's "Studio among Streams and Mountains" and Wang Jian's "Landscape after Old Masters".
