Sotheby's New York│Asia Week Overview│March 17

This March, Sotheby's New York is presenting Asia Week. Among the first batch of official selected items, the most significant Chinese porcelains include a large Blue and White "Peony" Dish and a Blue and White moon flask, respectively crafted during the Xuande and Yongle period during the Ming Dynasty. For collectors who are interested in Buddhist statues,"Indian, Himalayan & Southeast Asian Works of Art Including Property from the Cleveland Museum of Art" features a bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni, crafted in Tibet during the 13th/14th century. To Chinese paintings lovers, "Flowers, Birds, Fish and Fruit, Album of Twelve Leaves (Select Leaves)" painted by Zhu Da (Badashanren) is doubtlessly the most important item this time. If classic furniture is your cup of tea, a pair of continuous Yokeback armchairs which were made in the Ming Dynasty were showcased in "Important Chinese Art".
