Sotheby’s Ru Guanyao Brush Washer of the Northern Song Dynasty to Make Appearance Next Thursday

An extremely rare Ru Guanyao Brush Washer, secured to be the leading lot for Sotheby’s autumn sales, expected to fetch more than HK$100m, is going make its appearance at the media preview next Thursday. The Value will keep you all posted of any updates.

Alongside with the brush washer, two other lots will also put on display at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery. The first one is a 19-cm-tall blue and white ‘Makara’ jar with mark and period of Xuande (image below) that estimated at HK$30m-40m.

Another one is a gilt-inscribed jade river pebble ‘Kapala’ box and cover (image above), which was given to 8th Dalai Lama (1758-1804) by the Qianlong Emperor, estimated at HK$2m-3m.
