Robin Williams Personal Collection to Be Auctioned at Sotheby’s

The collection of beloved entertainer Robin Williams and his ex-wife, Marsha Garces Williams, will be offered at Sotheby’s New York. The collection is estimated to fetch US$3.3m-$4.7m on 4 October in New York.

The dedicated auction Creating Stage: The Collection of Marsha and Robin Williams will sell over hundreds of objects ranging from film memorabilia, contemporary art, furniture and watches. Part of the proceeds will benefit charities favoured by the actor. Highlights include a bronze sculpture by Deborah Butterfield, a robe worn by Daniel Radcliffe in Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, and street art by Shepard Fairey, Banksy and Invader.

Robin Williams started as a stand-up comedian and later developed a career in film acting. He achieved critical acclaim for his performances in Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poets Society and Aladdin. He won an Oscar as best supporting actor for his role in Good Will Hunting. In 2014, Williams committed suicide at the age of 63.
