As the autumn sales are coming to Hong Kong at the end of this month, we have introduced a number of highlights from categories like Chinese art, Chinese paintings and contemporary art. This time, we are going to show you some items that ladies will be drooling over – jewellery and handbags. Let’s take a look at some highlights from Poly Auction’s autumn sales.
The first set of jewellery
An Impressive Lavender Jadeite Bead and Emerald Necklace (estimate upon request)
Royal purple represents stateliness and grandness. This necklace is composed of thirty-five graduated jadeite beads of rich lavender colour, each measuring 15.66-14.64 mm in diameter. The total length is approximately 55.8 cm.
Lavender jadeite is often found in the unity of white, green and purple. However, this necklace is beyond comparison with its peers by its consistency and transparency. This necklace is expected to fetch in excess of HK$10m.
A Fine Lavender Jadeite Bangle (estimate: HK$2,400,000 - 4,800,000)
The semi-cylindrical lavender jadeite bangle weighs 456.2 carats. The interior diameter is approximately 56.51 mm and thickness is approximately 14.56 mm.
The second set of jewellery
A Bvlgari Diamond ‘Serpenti’ Bracelet (estimate: HK$1,280,000 - 2,200,000)
Bvlgari’s Serpenti collection draws inspiration from Greek and Romany mythology, where snake represents positive characteristics of rebirth, healing, protection, strength, and eternity. This bracelet is designed as a coiled serpent bracelet. The body is set with circular-cut diamonds, the head with pear-shaped diamond eyes, diamond weighing approximately 50.21 carats in total.
A Cartier Diamond, Sapphire and Emerald ‘Panthère’ Ring (estimate: HK$480,000 - 880,000)
The ring is modelled as a panther head pavé-set with circular-cut diamonds, embellished with sapphire spots, emerald eyes and onyx nose.
Van Cleef & Arpels Sri Lankan Sapphire and Diamond Necklace/Bracelet (estimate: HK$2,500,000 - 3,500,000)
Designed by the Van Cleef & Arpels, which is known for its feminine, glamorous, and refined style, this necklace is composed of seventeenth graduated sapphires weighing approximately 44.89 carats in total. The necklace can be detached into sections to shorten and worn as a bracelet or pendant.
The third set of jewellery
An Important and Rare 15.23 Carat Kashmir Sapphire and Coloured Diamond Ring (estimate upon request)
The exquisite sapphires from Kashmir have been disclosed after a rock slide in the Himalaya mountains in 1881. Although Kashmir has produced only a limited number of gems since then, the soft, velvety blue of Kashmir sapphires remains the epitome of this gem variety. A Kashmir sapphire over 10 carats is extremely rare to be found. The auction house revealed that this 15.23 carat Kashmir is estimated at HK$10m or even higher.
Olde Water An Important Pair of 12.85 & 12.69 Carat, Type IIA Internally Flawless Diamond Ear Pendants (estimate: HK$16,200,00 - 19,800,00)
Diamonds of this kind and size, exhibiting a superior quality as well as an old cutting style, and belonging to the finest of natural colour type IIa diamonds are very rare. Each set with a pear-shaped diamond weighing 12.85 and 12.69 carats respectively, to the cushion-shaped diamond surmount weighing 1.28 and 1.53 carats, mounted in 18K gold.
Finest Water An Important 12.33 Carat D Colour, Type IIA, Internally Flawless Diamond Pendant (estimate: HK$7,500,000 - 9,800,000)
Set with a pear-shaped diamond weighing 12.33 carats, to the cushion-shaped diamond surmount weighing 1.48 carats, mounted in 18K gold, approximately 4.3cm long.
