Viewing of Gigantic KAWS Sculpture Ends Early Due to Bad Weather

The 37-meter-long KAWS: HOLIDAY inflatable sculpture will say goodbye to Hong Kong fans today after ‘relaxing’ in Victoria Harbour since last Friday. It will leave two days ahead of the original schedule due to the bad weather forecasted.

The inflatable version of American street artist KAWS’ iconic character Companion is the largest sculptural endeavour by KAWS to date, bigger than the previous two stops of the Asia tour. Companion’s Asia tour kicked off last year with the first two stops in the Seokchon Lake in Seoul, and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei, before it arrived in Hong Kong.

AllRightsReserved, organiser of the show, said on social media on thursday that March 29 will be the last day of the show due to the upcoming unstable weather. The sculpture will be taken off from public viewing 'to avoid any unnecessary circumstances of KAWS: HOLIDAY, as well as to ensure the safety of marine staff'.

For those who missed the show, here are other amazing KAWS events happening concurrently with Hong Kong Arts Month to light up the gloomy day.
