Having travelled to Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei, Mount Fuji, Singapore, Melbourne, and even in the stratosphere, KAWS:HOLIDAY has found its next vacation destination – the Prambanan Temple, Indonesia’s largest Hindu temple complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For the first time in its six-year voyage, KAWS and its long-time collaborator AllRightReserved will take the famous ACCOMPLICE character on the tour, making it a 45-meter-long monumental sculpture, which is the largest by the artist to date.
An opening ceremony attended by the artist will take place on 18 August, while the public exhibition will be held from 19 to 31 August. For fans who can't meet the pink bunny in person, don't worry – a series of limited-edition collectibles will be available at DDT Store on 18 August at 11 a.m. (Hong Kong local time).
KAWS' colossal COMPANION first embarked on a worldwide journey in 2018, dressing in different outfits – including a spacesuit – to meet fans all around the world.
For the tour's tenth stop, the artist decides to bring a delightful surprise to long-time fans, reintroducing the bunny-eared ACCOMPLICE, which first appeared as a vinyl figure released in 2002.

Built in the 9th century, the Prambanan temple is the largest Hindu temple of ancient Java, known for its tall and pointed architecture, with the main temple's peak reaching a height of 47 meters.
Dedicated to the three great Hindu divinities – including Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu – the temples are decorated with masterful stone relief carvings illustrating the Indonesian spiritual knowledge, heroes, and animals, which represent the grandiose culture of Shiva art.
As a unique cultural and architectural marvel, Prambanan was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991 – making ACCOMPLICE the artist's first artwork to be showcased at a World Heritage Site, the experience of which AllRightsReserved described as "a thought-provoking pairing of ancient architecture with contemporary art".

And to fashionistas, the announcement of a new KAWS:HOLIDAY exhibition would perhaps mean the drop of a line of limited-edition collectibles, which is often wiped out within minutes.
For its stop in Indonesia, the exclusive pieces include an 11.5-inch vinyl figure in black and special-edition pink, a plush charm, a towel and a mug – all featuring the rare ACCOMPLICE character.
The collection will go up for sale at DDT Store starting at 11 a.m. on 18 August (Hong Kong local time) and will begin shipping in September this year. All items are available while stock lasts.
