Ed Sheeran X Heinz Ketchup Bottle Sells for £1,500

Three limited edition bottles of Heinz Tomato Ketchup designed by British songwriter Ed Sheeran were up for auction at Christie’s in London on Thursday and each sold for more than £1,000.

The bottles are three of the 150 limited-edition bottles of Ed Sheeran x Heinz Tomato Ketchup with design inspired by the sleeve tattoo on Ed Sheeran, who is known as a dedicated fan of Heinz Tomato. The three bottles were respectively sold for £1,050, £1,100 and £1,500, in which the last one is believed to the most valuable sauce ever sold at auction.

150 bottles were made to mark Heinz 150th birthday. Besides those three sold at auctions, some 104 bottles are on offer in a free global draw and the remainder would go to Sheeran and Heinz superfans and museums.

All money raised from the bottles will be donated to two charities chosen by Ed Sheeran and Heinz: East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Rise Against Hunger.

Ed Sheeran is a long-time fan of the sauce. The label design of the limited-edition bottles is based on an actual tattoo of Heinz Ketchup on Ed’s arm. Earlier this year he released his own Heinz ketchup ‘Tomato Edchup’ in a collaboration with the brand.
