For the first time, the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final came with a distinctly American touch: a halftime show. Staged on a scale more familiar to Super Bowl viewers, it brought together names including BTS, Coldplay, Madonna, Justin Bieber, and Shakira, drawing fans from well beyond the football world.
Christie’s recently staged an online charity auction titled ONE GOAL, featuring 27 pieces of memorabilia from this year’s tournament. Every lot sold, raising US$652,000 for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports education and sports development for underprivileged children worldwide.
The top lots were the ball used in the final and the performance jersey worn by BTS member Jimin during the halftime show, each of which sold for US$110,000.
