In September 2015, Christie's New York held the first part of "The Ruth and Carl Barron Collection of Fine Chinese Snuff Bottles" auction. Now comes the 4th part of it, and the collection of Ruth and Carl, the two late members of the International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society, still has many great pieces. The most notable lot is undoubtedly an inside-painted glass snuff bottle which signed Ma Shaoxuan, one of the most technically accomplished artists of the Beijing School of snuff-bottle painting in the Qing Dynasty. Another snuff bottle which also holds the highest estimate is lot 343, a carved yellow and russet jade snuff bottle, crafted between 1740 and 1860.
